   Gaan de Amerikanen dan toch met kleine auto's rijden? Voor de kleine Fiat 500 is er alvast erg veel belangstelling. Dat blijkt nu de Chryslergroep auto's van partner Fiat wil invoeren in de VS. Chrysler zocht 165 dealers, maar tot zijn verbazing hebben zich al meer dan 500 garages kandidaat gesteld.
   
   De Fiat 500 wordt vanaf december in Mexico gebouwd. Ook Alfa Romeo, een dochter van Fiat, wordt vanaf 2012 in de States geïmporteerd.
   
   denk dat dit voor fiat een "blockbuster" model gaat worden in de VS,hoop dat TT er ook op inspeelt middels een actie.

   Nice Battumboy.
   Een Aygo met TomTom inbouw navigatie dat is nog eens echt goed nieuws! Die autootjes verkopen als warme broodjes.
   Kan Toyota aygo zich mooi mee onderscheiden t.o.v. de 106 en de C1.
   
   Briljant nieuws, met een beetje geluk maandag al 10% omhoog en dinsdag nog eens 20%. :-)

   Dit is zeker goed nieuws en daarbij gaan de mensen steeds meer kleine en zuinige auto's rijden. Moet je kijken hoe zo'n TomTom mooi is en geen losse kabels etc..En als Toyata al in zee gaat met TomTom dan zal de rest spoedig volgen, nou dat zal zeker een impact hebben op de koers van TomTom in de Future!! Mss as maandag al reaktie erop, ben benieuwd!

    Mazda chooses TomTom as their connected navigation services supplier in Europe
    
    Paris Motor Show, 30 September 2010–TomTom, the world’s leading provider of location and navigation solutions, today announced that it will supply Mazda Motor Corporation with a connected in-dash multi media and navigation solution, developed in cooperation with SANYO.

    Meer als 500.000 in ruim een jaar tijd en nog steeds groeiende.....en dit alleen bij renault
    
    toch niet gek om te veronderstellen dat dit aantal voor alle automerken en deals groeit naar 3,5 tot 4 miljoen de komende 2 jaar
    
    en dan te bedenken dat er grote paniek was omdat de hardware aan de straatstenen niet meer kwijt te raken zou zijn na de "gratis" navigatie van google en nokia.....

    Toyota toont op de Paris Motor Show een nieuw, praktisch snufje voor de Aygo; geintegreerde navigatie bovenaan het dashboard met de naam Aygo Connect.
    Het navigatiesysteem wordt ingebouwd op de plaats van het opbergbakje dat bovenop het dashboard van de Aygo is geplaatst. De routeinformatie en -begeleiding wordt verzorgd door TomTom, wat in ieder geval veel gebruiksvriendelijkheid belooft. Toyota combineert het Connect systeem met diverse multimediamogelijkheden. Meer details worden later bekend gemaakt.

    Dat kan toch niet anders betekenen dan dat dat ook in de Peugeot en Citroen komt?! Nou dat drietal samen zijn er heel wat. En omdat die zo succesvol zijn en die inbouwset gegarandeerd heel tevreden klanten gaat opleveren lijkt inbouw in de opvolger t.z.t. ook in de pocket.

    Zie hier: Afbeelding was paar dagen geleden al voorbij gekomen. Maar aangezien het forum nu nog wat nieuwe mensen trekt. Zie hier.

    Dat de aygo tomtom inbouwt zegt denk ik niets over de 106 en de C1. Daarmee onderscheid TomTom zich juist. En Toyota had eerder al een samenwerking met TomTom waaruit dit te verklaren is Peugeot en Citroen niet.

    TomTom mag op dit moment dan wel geen deal met Volvo hebben. Wellicht dat TomTom dadelijk in de toekomst toch in veel Volvo's is terug te vinden via de Ipad.

    TomTom to Provide Live Services to Renault Cars
    Half a million Renault already sold with Carminat TomTom
    
    
    At the Paris Motor Show, TomTom and Renault today revealed their first fully connected in-dash navigation system, the Carminat TomTom LIVE. These services will include HD Traffic, speedcam information, weather and local search.
    
    Carminat TomTom LIVE comes with a three month free trial, then costs €59.95 per year via an online subscription. A three year subscription model will also be offered for €149 starting in 2011 from local Renault dealerships. The service will initially be available in France, Germany, UK, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands and Portugal.
    
    The first cars to be offered the Carminat TomTom LIVE will be the Latitude, Laguna and Espace, to be followed by the Megane and other models in 2011.
    
    Although the Carminat TomTom solution was said to be a success with 40 percent take rate, TomTom and Renault confirmed it in providing sales figures today, stating that since its launch in March 2009 over 500,000 units have been sold.
    
    In the future, Renault and TomTom will also offer existing TomTom Carminat users an upgrade path to the Live version.

    AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--TomTom nv (TOM2.AE) wil dat over vijf jaar 20 tot 25 mln mensen in Europa gebruikmaken van zijn live-diensten, zo zei Carlo van de Weijer, vice president van TomTom Intelligent Transportation Systems.
    
    De live-diensten van TomTom kunnen tegen betaling worden afgenomen, en is behalve op TomTom's losse navigatiesystemen in het hogere segment en via de applicatie voor de iPhone van Apple Inc. (AAPL) nu ook verkrijgbaar op de in het dashboard geintegreerde navigatiesystemen van Renault S.A. (RNO.FR) auto's.
    
    Op dit moment heeft het navigatiebedrijf 1 mln abonnee's, waarvan 220.000 in Nederland. Het bedrijf wil een hoger omzetaandeel uit diensten, nu de de verkoop van losse navigatiesystemen stagneert.
    
    Belangrijkste live-dienst is HD Traffic. Deze realtime verkeersdienst maakt onder meer gebruik van gegevens van 80 mln mobiele telefoongebruikers van Vodafone Group plc. (VOD.LN) en is sinds de lancering eind 2007 in Nederland over vrijwel heel West-Europa uitgerold.
    
    TomTom maakte vandaag ook een deal bekend met het Japanse automerk Mazda Motor Corp. (7261.TO). Het is de eerste overeenkomst die voortvloeit uit de samenwerking met het Japanse elektronicabedrijf Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd. (SANYY) uit 2009. TomTom en Sanyo leveren direct aan Mazda een alles-in-een multimedia- en navigatiesysteem.
    
    In Japan worden auto's standaard voorzien van een navigatiesysteem dat is geintegreerd in het dashboard, terwijl in Europa en Noord-Amerika losse navigatiesystemen meer aftrek vinden.
