    Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, 30 August 2018 - IBA (Ion Beam Applications S.A., EURONEXT), the world’s leading provider of proton therapy solutions for the treatment of cancer, and Parkway Pantai, one of Asia’s largest integrated private healthcare groups, announce today that they have signed a contract for the installation of a compact single-room proton therapy system Proteus®ONE* at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, the flagship hospital of Parkway Pantai in Singapore. The contract is worth between EUR 35 million and 40 million (SGD 55 million to 65 million) to IBA.

    The IBA Proteus®ONE solution was selected by Parkway Pantai after a rigorous selection process. The contract includes the delivery of a Proteus®ONE solution, IBA’s latest generation Pencil Beam Scanning (PBS), isocenter volumetric imaging (Cone Beam CT) capabilities and the construction of the building which will house the proton therapy facility. The long-term operation and maintenance of the facility is part of a separate agreement. The hospital expects to treat its first proton therapy patients in 2021.

    Louvain-La-Neuve, België, 27 september, 2018 - IBA (Ion Beam Applications SA, EURONEXT), 's werelds toonaangevende leverancier van oplossingen voor protontherapie voor de behandeling van kanker, kondigt vandaag de komst en manipulatie aan van een cyclotron van 220 ton op de nieuwe faciliteit van het Inova Schar Cancer Institute, net buiten Washington, DC Dit innovatieve centrum zal worden uitgerust met IBA's Proteus®PLUS-oplossing, geoptimaliseerd voor de allerbeste behandeling met Pencil Beam Scanning (PBS) en geïntegreerde Cone Beam CT Image Guidance ( CBCT).

    De Cyclone®230-accelerator arriveerde op 24 september 2018 vanuit het hoofdkantoor van IBA in Louvain-la-Neuve, Washington, naar Falls Church, VA. Het volledige tuigage van de configuratie met twee hangars wordt op 26 september voltooid. behandel de eerste patiënt eind 2019. Het contract, ondertekend op 5 juli 2017, omvat ook een langdurige exploitatie- en onderhoudsovereenkomst.

    Tot op heden heeft IBA 53 protontherapiecentra over de hele wereld verkocht.

    Het Inova Schar-kankerinstituut is een interdisciplinaire vlaggenschipfaciliteit voor kankerzorg in het Inova Health System, gericht op klinische zorg, translationeel onderzoek en psychosociale ondersteuning. Inova Schar Cancer Institute bouwt een nieuwe state-of-the-art faciliteit, opening in het voorjaar van 2019, in het Inova Center for Personalized Health, een campus van 117 hectare op de Capital Beltway. Het centrum voor protontherapie - lid worden van een bestaande afdeling voor geavanceerde radiotherapie oncologie - is een belangrijke mijlpaal in hun missie om gepersonaliseerde kankertherapieën te bieden, in combinatie met een op samenwerking gebaseerde en patiëntgerichte benadering van kankerzorg.

    First treatment conducted with the IBA Proteus®ONE compact proton therapy solution in Japan

    Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, 03 October 2018 - IBA (Ion Beam Applications SA), the world’s leading provider of proton therapy solutions for the treatment of cancer, is pleased to announce that the medical team from the Narita Memorial Proton Center in Toyohashi, Japan, has treated the first patient with the IBA Proteus®ONE compact proton therapy solution. On 7 September, the patient was treated for prostate cancer with proton therapy in order to preserve the surrounding healthy tissue. He is the first patient in Japan being treated with proton therapy equipment made by a foreign manufacturer.
    The treatment is being delivered using the single room Proteus®ONE solution at the Narita Memorial Proton Center, which was installed within 11 months by IBA. Proteus®ONE is the only truly compact Image Guided Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy (IG-IMPT) solution in the industry. It has a unique open gantry environment designed to ease the work of radiation therapists during the treatment workflow and optimize the patient experience by providing a comfortable and calming environment. This compact design enables easy installation, operation and financing.
