    (ABM FN-Dow Jones) ArcerlorMittal wil de staalproductie in Frankrijk versneld vergroenen en doet daarvoor een investering van 1,7 miljard euro. Dit kondigde de staalgigant vrijdagochtend aan.

    In 2030 wil de staalreus de CO2-uitstoot van de Franse productie met 40 procent hebben teruggebracht.

    De investering krijgt steun van de Franse overheid.

    [PYR] is pleased to announce today that, further to its press release dated January 27, 2022, it has completed the factory acceptance test (“FAT”) of its 1-MW plasma torch, for the iron ore pelletization industry, with Client A (the “Client”). This successful FAT was conducted at PyroGenesis’ manufacturing facility in Montreal in the presence of the Client.

    With the FAT process now successfully completed, and officially approved by Client A, the plasma torch system will now be shipped to the Client’s facility before the end of Q1 2022. PyroGenesis expects the plasma torch to arrive, on or about, the end of Q2 2022. The torch will then be installed in Client A’s induration furnace, replacing the dirty fossil fuel burner currently in place. The installation should take approximately 3 to 4 weeks, after which a Site Acceptance Test (SAT) will be performed. The SAT is scheduled to be completed before the end of July 2022. Both the installation and the SAT will be conducted by Client A, and supervised by PyroGenesis personnel. Between the arrival of PyroGenesis’ proprietary 1 MW plasma torch at the Client’s site and the SAT, there will be a number of tasks that will need to be completed (such as the training of local personnel by PyroGenesis staff).

    “The long-awaited FAT has finally been completed, and we are proud to announce today that we have successfully passed this important milestone. The torch will now be shipped to the client’s facility where it will be installed, and where the SAT is scheduled to be performed before the end of July 2022. This important milestone brings us that much closer to our ultimate goal of providing clean plasma torches to the iron ore pelletization industry in their quest to replace dirty fossil fuel burners,” said P. Peter Pascali, CEO and Chair of PyroGenesis. “Successful completion of this FAT marks a significant milestone, not only for PyroGenesis and its clients, but also for all those involved in high temperature applications, specifically in the steel industry where we seem to be making our mark. We expect the next 6 months to be extremely exciting for everyone involved as all parties finally see that the goal line is in sight.”

    Het is een typische PYR pr die in tijden van koerszwakte worden bovengehaald. Dit zijn zaken die helemaal niet hoeven aangekondigd te worden.

    Is een beetje eigen aan een FAT (factory acceptance test).
    Vaak is een FAT een onderdeel van de acceptatie van het product door de klant.
    Een test die wordt uitgevoerd bij en door het bedrijf waar de component gemaakt is met de klant als getuige teneinde te verifiëren in de fabriek of de beloofde specificaties (vaak gedefinieerd in het contract) gehaald worden.
    Soms zit hier ook een mijlpaal betaling aan vast, daar het toch een belangrijk moment is. Ik vermoed dat dat echter hier niet van toepassing is, want anders had het wel vermeld geweest in het persbericht.

    Nu volgt shipping, installatie door de klant onder supervisie (en hoogstwaarschijnlijk verantwoordelijkheid) van PYR, tegelijkertijd gaat PYR het personeel van de klant trainen, waarna de SAT volgt. Deze Site Acceptance Test wordt ter plaatse uitgevoerd en zal nagaan of de criteria / specificaties gehaald worden. Wederom weer een mooi moment voor een mogelijke mijlpaalbetaling. Ook vaak de start van de garantie.

    Voor mij klinkt wat er gebeurt vrij standaard en normaal. Goed om te zien dat ze training geven voor/tijdens de installatie, dat PYR enkel supervisie geeft bij installatie (kan je ook weer zien als training). Waarschijnlijk zit het personeel van de klant al achter de knoppen bij de SAT onder supervisie van PYR als onderdeel/afsluiting van de training.

    Ti6Al4V titanium alloy was used in this study because (1) it has good X-ray transparency, (2) it is the most commonly used titanium alloy [26], and (3) it is of particular interest to the aerospace, biomedical, and defense industry since it is suitable for a wide range of applications due to its high-strength and low-density [1]. The Ti6Al4V powders for testing were purchased from Pyrogenesis Canada Inc. (Montreal, QC, Canada). The Ti6Al4V metal substrate was purchased from McMaster (Elmhurst, IL, USA). The powder morphology and size distribution are shown in Figure 1.
