IFLG – News on the Way?
InfoLogix, Inc. (NASDAQ: IFLG) develops, implements, and sells wireless mobile workstations and devices, which consist of mobile point of care workstations; picture archival and communications system display; mobile point of activity workstations; mobile point of sale devices; and vehicle-mounted workstations. Friday morning, $IFLG announced it would be presenting and exhibiting at the SAP Insider Logistics and Supply Chain Conference in Orlando, Florida on February 22-26, 2010. Although this news only prompted a gain of 3.5% on Friday, today’s trading activity was much different. In fact, $IFLG traded more than 45 times its 3 month average volume, gaining more than 220% today—hot diggity!

InfoLogix shares up by multiple of 5 since Monday
Philadelphia Business Journal - by Peter Key Staff Writer

InfoLogix Inc.’s share price has more than quintupled since the end of trading Friday and the company doesn’t know why.

The Hatboro, Pa., company’s shares were trading at $9 at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, up $3.28, or 57 percent, from their Monday closing price of $5.72, but off from their high price of the day, which was $10.50.

Nearly 921,000 shares had changed hands, which is more than 39 times the stock’s average daily trading volume of 23,349 shares over the past three months, according to Yahoo! Finance.

This activity follows a day in which InfoLogix’s share price more than tripled, also on very heavy volume. InfoLogix (NASDAQ:IFLG) shares rose from their Friday closing price of $1.74 to $6.22 before falling to close at $5.72 Monday, with 635,400 shares traded.

InfoLogix helps companies, primarily in the health-care and commercial sectors, deploy mobile technology to improve their operations.

It put out no news releases Monday, but did make a presentation called “A Comprehensive Guide to Warehouse Management Functionality from SAP” from 9 a.m. to noon at SAP AG’s Insider’s Logistics and Supply Chain Management Conference in Orlando, Fla.

InfoLogix’s chief financial officer, John A. Roberts, said Tuesday that people in the NASDAQ MarketWatch department told him that most of the trading was taking place through retail traders and very small hedge funds.

They also told him that the 100-day moving average of InfoLogix’s stock price passed $4.20 per share Monday, which could trigger some computer trading. Additionally, they said the 200-day moving average of its price crossed a threshold that could trigger more computer trading on Tuesday morning, but he didn’t know what the threshold was.

InfoLogix performed a one-for-25 reverse split in January. Taking that into account, its stock has traded as high as $17.25 in the past year, so its recent prices aren’t unprecedented.

“The fact that we’re starting to trade back to some values we were at not that long ago perhaps shouldn’t be too surprising,” Roberts said.

InfoLogix (IFLG) Blasts Off To the Moon, But a Share Registration Can Can Bring It Back Down to Earth
    February 23, 2010 12:00 PM EST

Over the past couple of trading days shares of microcap IT company InfoLogix, Inc. (Nasdaq: IFLG) have surged over 400% on no news - rising from Friday's close of $1.74 to the current price of $8.74.

The rise has been a mystery to many market participates, although that has not stopped them from trading in the shares. Volume in the tiny stock has risen from 6,800 shares last Friday to over 1.3 million today.

Some believe the move in the shares could be related to President Obama's health care proposal and the upcoming health care summit on Thursday. InfoLogix provides billing and other solutions for the healthcare industry.

Another explanation for the surge could be that traders are playing the "greater fool" game with the stock. Because of its small float of just 1,030,311 million shares, the stock can be manipulated. By eating through a few offers, someone or something could effectively "paint the tape" showing higher and higher gains and drawing attention from other traders. Selling the shares to the "greater fool" would lock in a profits for these traders.

Because of the dramatic rise, short sellers have been licking their chops to get in before the plunge back to reality. If buyers continue to drive the action, these short sellers may be forced to move on and will cover their shorts - which creates additional buying.

The surge in InfoLogix has proved to be a boon for Hercules Technology Growth Capital, Inc. (Nasdaq: HTGC), which is the largest shareholder of InfoLogix. InfoLogix's $5 million in debt owned to Hercules Technology was converted into shares of common stock and a warrant to purchase shares.

Once a registration statement is declared effective, Hercules Technology Growth will get 3,364,738 shares of InfoLogix, which includes 672,948 shares from warrants.

If the rise in InfoLogix is legitimate or just a game, traders may want to keep an eye on this registration as the number of shares of common stock that will be available to be publicly traded after the registration statement will increase by approximately 327%.
