    We believe investing is smart because history shows that stock markets go higher in the long term. But not every stock you buy will perform as well as the overall market.     Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced that Fugro, a leading geo-data specialist in the offshore wind industry, is to expand its Americas Center of Expertise for Offshore Wind in the City of Norfolk, Virginia

    The company’s Virginia operations have grown considerably over the past decade, in line with the boom in offshore wind projects on the US East Coast.

    The expansion will create an additional 15 jobs in the state. Undertaking site characterisation of offshore wind developments, Fugro provides information about seabed and environmental conditions to guide safe and efficient project planning, design and construction activities.

    “Virginia is poised to become a market leader in offshore wind technology, development and deployment, and the expansion of Fugro’s Americas Center of Expertise for the industry in the City of Norfolk will advance energy innovation in the Commonwealth and in the US,” said Governor Youngkin.

    “We are committed to a strategy to ensure a reliable, affordable and clean energy economy of tomorrow for Virginians, and Fugro’s research on offshore wind development aids our efforts while also creating new, high-quality jobs.”

    Fugro group director Americas Céline Gerson said, “Norfolk has proven to be an ideal location for us to foster and expand our expertise in this important market.”

    Fugro and GomSpace announced a cooperation around the SpaceStarTM product in 2020. Since then, the first SpaceStar systems have gained flight heritage and proven a stunning performance: Real time, sub-decimetre absolute positioning on board a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite without additional ground-infrastructure for the satellite operator.
    SpaceStar relies on GomSpace's Software Defined Radio (SDR) with Fugro's software utilizing real-time orbit and clock corrections from geostationary (GEO) satellites.

    The SDRs are delivered by GomSpace with the Fugro SpaceStar software pre-installed, and the customer signs a service agreement with Fugro to use the system in space.

    GomSpace has recently received an additional product order from a well-known and returning customer that will use the SpaceStar system on multiple satellites.

    "We are excited about the cooperation with Fugro and having SpaceStar on the market as a standard product. The performance demonstrated in space is amazing" says Carsten Drachmann, CEO of GomSpace.

    SpaceStar provides sub-decimetre absolute positioning and nanosecond-level timing, on board the satellite, in real-time, and without additional ground-infrastructure. A truly unique capability that can be instrumental in advanced missions involving rendezvous and docking or precise formation flying.

    The wreck of the Montevideo Maru, in which more than 1,000 Australian troops and civilians perished in the worst maritime disaster in Australia’s history, has been located at a depth of more than 13,120 feet off the coast of the Philippines—more than 80 years after she was sunk by a U.S. submarine during World War II.

    The location of the Japanese transport ship has been an enduring mystery since she was torpedoed on 1 July 1942 by the USS Sturgeon (SS-187). Unbeknownst to the submarine crew, the Montevideo Maru was carrying prisoners of war and civilians who had been captured in the fall of Rabaul a few months earlier.

    Approximately 1,060 prisoners, both military and civilian, were lost. The ship sank with at least 850 Australian service members and 210 civilians from 14 countries, who ranged from a boy aged 15 to men in their 60s. Almost twice as many Australians died in this one incident than were killed in the entire Vietnam War.

    The wreck was discovered on a mission put together by Sydney’s Silentworld Foundation, which is dedicated to maritime archaeology and history, and the Dutch deep-sea survey company Fugro, with support from the Australian Department of Defence.

    “The discovery of the Montevideo Maru closes a terrible chapter in Australian military and maritime history,” said John Mullen, director of Silentworld. “Families waited years for news of their missing loved ones, before learning of the tragic outcome of the sinking. Some never fully came to accept that their loved ones were among the victims. Today, by finding the vessel, we hope to bring closure to the many families devastated by this terrible disaster.”

    The wreckage of the Montevideo Maru, sitting at a deeper depth than the Titanic, will not be disturbed. No artifacts or human remains will be removed. The site will be recorded for research purposes.

    CGG heeft ook nieuws en de koers gaat weer wat vooruit!

    PARIJS (Agefi-Dow Jones)--De oliedienstengroep CGG heeft maandag aangekondigd dat haar dochteronderneming Sercel verschillende uitrustingscontracten heeft gekregen van de Chinese geofysische dienstengroep BGP voor inzet in het Midden-Oosten. De financiële details van de contracten zijn niet bekendgemaakt.

    "Deze contracten omvatten de levering van 54 Nomad 65 Neo-vibrators en 29.000 GPR300-zeebodemknooppunten voor inzet dit jaar op verschillende grote seismische onderzoeken" op land en op zee in het Midden-Oosten, zei CGG in een verklaring.

    Goedemiddag allen, als ik het koers verloop zo bekijk vandaag mag het weer niet boven de 14,45 uit komen.
    Heb dus besloten dat als het weer op 14,45 de helft te verkopen of misschien wel alles.
    Koop ik wel weer terug als het wederom weer onder de 14 komt.
