   AMSTELVEEN (AFN) - Logica heeft een applicatie voor de iPhone of iPad ontwikkeld waarmee artsen snel informatie kunnen opzoeken over reanimatie en geneesmiddelen. Dat maakte Logica vrijdag bekend zonder financiële details te noemen.
   
   Het programma helpt onder meer bij het berekenen van de juiste dosering van medicijnen en bevat protocollen voor reanimatie. Ook is er een metronoom voor het oefenen van een hartmassage op het juiste tempo. De app is ontwikkeld in samenwerking met Guido de Rooij, anesthesioloog en arts op de traumahelicopter.
   
   Volgens Logica zijn er voor de iPhone tot nu toe weinig specifiek professionele programma's ontwikkeld. Het bedrijf denkt dat deze markt sterk zal groeien.

   Luottokunta Chooses Logica As It Service Partner

   Luottokunta, the leading card payment service provider in Finland and Logica, a leading business and technology service company, have signed a four-year contract whereby Logica will manage the IT operating and infrastructure services of Luottokunta. As part of the contract, 16 payment specialists working currently in Luottokunta will transfer to Logica in October 2010.

   Metropolitan Police Authority extends Logica partnership

   Logica, a business and technology service company, has been awarded an extension by the Metropolitan Police Authority and Metropolitan Police Service to its pay and pensions outsourcing contract. MPS awarded Logica the £10 million contract extension covering the three-year period, 2013-2016, renewing the existing contract between the two organisations, signed in 2005.
   
   Logica already provides a fully-integrated, managed payroll and pensions administration service for the 58,000 police officers and staff of MPS. This contract extension will also see Logica offer the opportunity for MPS to benefit from introduction of organisation-wide electronic payslips, overtime and expenses which it has not had to date. The new contract maintains the focus on providing quality services at good value for money. The pensions administration service will continue to be managed through Logica’s partner Xafinity Paymaster.
   
   Logica will also provide an even more resilient and flexible solution providing additional benefits to MPS employees through greater use of self-service IT systems. Additionally, Logica's technology and payroll solutions, which were developed specifically for the public sector, have been tailored to meet the specific needs of Logica’s Police User Group.

   The new supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) platform, to be supplied and migrated by Logica, will see the the tram company implement 66 remote telemetry units along existing field wiring and allow technicians to remotely view and manipulate the network, manage work permits and control power supply for its vehicle fleet.
   
   Yarra Trams is also expected to upgrade its audio video monitoring (AVM) system over the next three years, replacing the current, five-year-old video wall, enabling the company to visualise potential disruptions to the network and correlate tram movements with substation loads. The wall is fed by traffic cameras from VicRoads and is used in association with Victoria Police to control traffic during peak periods and special events.
   
   “Improved access to a wider range of data will enable a proactive and faster response to potential problems in our power network, resulting in greater business efficiency. It will bring us close to real-time management, as well as providing greater control over our carbon emissions,” Yarra Trams projects director, Sozos Pavli said in a statement.
   
   “This is a technically challenging project and we required a reliable partner that will upgrade our control centre with minimum disruption, with the expertise to integrate new technology with our existing business systems,” Pavli said.
   
   The system will monitor the activity of the company’s fleet of 486 trams, which in total cover 31,000 services per week. The track infrastructure spans 250 kilometres.
   
   Logica has been involved in developing and planning the SCADA implementation for the past year, with consultants from the company working with Yarra Trams as early as July last year. However, the private tram company has been on the lookout to replace its previous system for at least four years with initial tenders for the project stretching back to 2006.
   
   The new SCADA system is expected to last for the next decade.

   Logica haalt twee nieuwe klanten binnen

   LONDEN (AFN) - Automatiseerder Logica heeft contracten getekend met twee nieuwe klanten voor zijn CLS Manager solution (LCM). Dat maakte Logica dinsdag bekend.
   
   Logica maakte niet bekend wie de nieuwe klanten zijn en hoeveel geld met de contracten is gemoeid. LCM automatiseert handelstransacties via het CLS-systeem op de geldmarkt. LCM wordt nu door veertien banken gebruikt, waaronder Credit Suisse en Nomura. Zij zijn samen goed voor bijna 45 procent van het dagelijkse volume op het CLS-systeem.

    ICT-inhuur kost VWS miljoenen euro's

    Het ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport (VWS) en het ministerie van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid (SZW) hebben gezamenlijk nieuwe raamcontracten gesloten voor het inhuren van ict-personeel. De ministeries verwachten de komende vier jaar bijna tachtig miljoen euro aan ict-diensten uit te geven.
    
    Tot de geselecteerde partijen behoren Accenture, Atos Origin, BT, Logica, Ordina, Getronics, Sogeti, Between Holding, Corso Informatica en OneStopSourcing. De nieuwe raamcontracten gaan in op 1 januari 2011 en hebben een duur van twee jaar met twee opties tot verlenging van elk een jaar. (ICTzorg – ICTzorg / Twitter)

    Logica, a leading business and technology service company, today announced a contract win with Stora Enso, a global paper, packaging and wood products company, for the provision of IT infrastructure services. Through the three-year contract, which begins in January 2011, Logica will provide IT infrastructure services to all Stora Enso’s production facilities in Finland. Under the terms of the agreement employees currently working at Stora Enso will transfer to Logica.
    
    Logica will provide IT services to approximately 8,000 users and 6,000 workstations. The agreement includes IT services to end users, server and workstation management, and in addition network and database management and development. The contract has the option of a two-year extension.

    ING bezorgd om voortbestaan Ordina

    AMSTERDAM (AFN) - Bankverzekeraar ING is bezorgd om het voortbestaan van automatiseerder Ordina. Bestuursvoorzitter Ronald Kasteel is afgelopen zomer op het matje geroepen om uitleg te geven over zijn vooruitzichten. Dat schreef Het Financieele Dagblad dinsdag op basis van bronnen.
    
    ING bezorgd om voortbestaan Ordina De directie van ING Operations & IT zou met Ordina in de maag zitten omdat de automatiseerder grotendeels afhankelijk is van de bankverzekeraar. ING is zowel de huisbankier als een cruciale klant van Ordina.
    
    De situatie ligt volgens de krant extra gevoelig omdat ING op het punt staat om een grote IT-opdracht in de markt te zetten. Ordina geldt daarvoor als een kanshebber en zou met de opdracht weer zwarte cijfers kunnen schrijven. In de eerste helft van dit jaar leed het bedrijf een flink verlies door het uitblijven van opdrachten van de overheid en de financiële sector.
    
    Misschien dat LOG nu meer kans maakt op die grote opdracht. Verder is het geen goede reclame voor Ordina. Denk dat bedrijven en overheid wel extra uitkijken om Ordina opdrachten te geven. Niet zo slim om dit bericht naar buiten te brengen van ING.

    DEN HAAG (AFN) - Telefoniebedrijf T-Mobile en automatiseerder Logica hebben een samenwerkingsovereenkomst gesloten om samen activiteiten op de zakelijke markt voor iPhones te ontplooien. Dat maakten de bedrijven donderdag bekend zonder financiële details te noemen.
    
    Logica moet er voor zorgen dat T-Mobile zijn klanten zakelijke applicaties kan aanbieden die zijn afgestemd op de behoefte van het bedrijf. Ook zorgt Logica voor een veilige infrastructuur, zodat bijvoorbeeld het hoofdkantoor veilig informatie kan uitwisselen met medewerkers buiten de deur.
    
    Volgens T-Mobile is de iPhone zeer populair in het bedrijfsleven vanwege de mogelijkheden en het gebruikersgemak.
