   The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that commanders from the Russian army as well as two battalion tactical groups are refusing to fight.
   
   Quote: “According to the information available, the morale and psychological state of enemy personnel and the level of motivation remains at an extremely low level.
   
   Commanders of different levels of the 3rd Motorised Rifle Division of the 20th Combined-Arms Army of the Western Military District are refusing to take part in combat operations.
   
   Furthermore, military personnel are writing resignation letters en masse.
   
   Personnel from two battalion tactical groups of the 4th Military Base of the 58th Combined-Arms Army of the Southern Military District have refused to take part in combat operations in Ukraine.
   
   The plan is for them to return to their permanent deployment points.”
   
   Details: In order to make up for the loss of personnel, the Russian leadership is campaigning to encourage civilians to join the ranks of the armed forces.
   
   These actions are being carried out both within the Russian Federation and in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the autonomous republic of Crimea.
   
   Systematic violations of the requirements of International Humanitarian Law on the conduct of war are still taking place.
   
   The Russian invaders are continuing to place weapons and military hardware in close proximity to residential infrastructure in populated areas, to conduct filtration activities in the temporarily occupied territories, to perpetrate acts of violence against local residents, and to engage in looting and robbery.
   
   In the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the protectors and defenders of Ukraine have beaten back six Russian attacks in the past 24 hours, and destroyed four tanks, six armoured vehicles and seven vehicles belonging to the invading forces.
   
   During the previous day, a group of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit eight air targets: two aircraft, one helicopter, one UAV and four cruise missiles. Air Force aircraft also continued to strike places where Russian troops are amassed, convoys of military hardware and logistics centres.

   Zweden overweegt serieus lid te worden van NAVO, Finland gaat zijn bevolking niet eens naar mening vragen
   
   De oorlog in Oekraïne lijkt Finland en Zweden in de armen van de NAVO te drijven. Elke week lijken de twee Scandinavische landen en nieuwe stap in de richting van de alliantie te zetten.
   
   Laten we beginnen met Finland, dat nog steeds iets meer lijkt te willen toetreden tot de NAVO dan zijn buurland. Deze week is president Sauli Niinistö van gedachten veranderd over een mogelijk referendum. Hoewel hij eerder had aangegeven dat het voor het land een essentiële stap was om het lidmaatschap aan te vragen, vindt hij dat het niet langer nodig was een dergelijke stemming voor te bereiden om een dergelijk besluit te legitimeren.
   
   Volgens hem zijn de verschillende opiniepeilingen van de afgelopen weken een voldoende bewijs van de bereidheid van de Finnen om zich bij de alliantie aan te sluiten.
   
   “De NAVO moet weten dat er steun van de bevolking is. Volgens mij hebben we die al”, zei Ninistö woensdag tegen de Finse openbare omroep Yle. “Als dit standpunt wordt aanvaard, dan wordt aanvaard dat: ja, de meerderheid er zo over denkt [over lidmaatschap]”.
   
   Volgens een opiniepeiling die deze week door de Finse krant Helsingin Sanomat is gepubliceerd, bedraagt de steun voor het lidmaatschap van de NAVO 61 procent. Dit is een historisch cijfer, dat alleen maar is toegenomen sinds het begin van de oorlog in Oekraïne. Volgens dezelfde opiniepeiling zou slechts 16 procent van de Finnen tegen lidmaatschap zijn.

    Misschien wat Franse Exocet. Eentje daarvan werd door GB in de Falklandoorlog gebruikt.... Dat was in die tijd een eye-opener. Op zo'n afstand....

    De Argentijnen hebben er toen meerder afgevuurd vanaf straaljagers, op enkele GB fregatten en een schip vol met troepen.
    De schrik zat er toen goed in bij de Britten.
    
    Zou mooi zijn als Ukraine de beschikking krijgt over een stuk of 50 van die dingen (of vergelijkbaar spul), dan is de RU Naval Fleet daar snel verdwenen... Naar de kelder of op het hazenpad.
