    Het belangrijkste is 16 februari. Als er geen injunction komt dan kan de koers zomaar 100% omhoog. Komt er dan ook nog al het goede nieuws bij van de pijplijn en goedkeuring europa dan kan het echt enorm omhoog. Laat staan als er ook nog een europese partner bijkomt.

    Nu weet ik dat mensen gelijk gaan zeggen van MADW overdrijft maar ik denk het niet.
    Nu eerst de beslissing van de rechter en de rest komt vanzelf.

    Ik hoop dat je gelijk hebt, want dan weten we tenminste dat we voorlopig geen emissie hoeven te verwachten.
    Het vreemde is dat als Insmed omhoog gaat door positief nieuws m.b.t. de rechtzaak/patenten, dan had Tercica de negatieve gevolgen moeten voelen in de koers en daar gebeurt niks....

    Heb een paar keer gekocht en verkocht. Mijn gem. is nu ong 1,05-1,06.
    Dus kom maar op met de hogere koersen.
    Crack ik heb nu bijn 60% meer aandelen als een jaar geleden. Dus als hij weer naar de 3 dollar gaat kan ik echt lachen.

    Herceptin Improves Early Survival For Women With Breast Cancer

    Giving women with a certain type of breast cancer Herceptin for one year following standard chemotherapy may improve their survival, according to an Article in this week’s issue of The Lancet.

    Around 15 - 25% of women with early breast cancer have a type called HER2-receptor positive disease. Herceptin has been shown to reduce the risk of disease recurrence in women with HER2-positive early breast cancer. In the Herceptin Adjuvant (HERA) study, Ian Smith (Royal Marsden Hospital, London, UK) and colleagues assessed the effect of the drug on overall survival after two years follow-up.

    On the trial 1703 women were randomised to receive Herceptin for one year after surgery and chemotherapy and 1698 women were assigned to the control group (observation only). They found that more deaths occurred in the observation group than in the drug group (90 vs59), which corresponds to a survival benefit of 2·7% after 3 years. There were more serious side effects in the Herceptin group than in the observation group.

    Dr Smith concludes: "Our results indicate that trastuzumab [Herceptin] shows a significant overall survival benefit in early breast cancer over observation alone after chemotherapy. . . The survival benefit that has emerged over such a short period emphasises the potential of this approach and underlines the importance of developing further specific targeted therapies in breast and other cancers."

    Clinical studies indicate that Herceptin (trastuzumab), a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody directed against the human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER-2) tyrosine kinase growth factor receptor, provides a significant but transient survival advantage to a subset of patients with HER-2-overexpressing metastatic breast cancer when given as a first-line agent. Increased insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-I receptor (IGF-IR) signaling has recently been identified as a potential factor adversely influencing the response to Herceptin. We examined the effect of recombinant human IGF binding protein 3 (rhIGFBP-3), an antagonist of IGF-IR signaling, in Herceptin-resistant breast cells in vitro and in tumors in vivo. Consistent with results obtained using HER-2- or IGF-IR-transfected cells (MCF-7/HER2-18 and SKBR3/IGF-IR, respectively), we found that rhIGFBP-3 significantly reduced IGF-I-induced IGF-IR phosphorylation and displayed a synergistic interaction with Herceptin against cultured HER-2-overexpressing breast cancer cells in vitro. We show, for the first time, the antitumor activity of rhIGFBP-3 against advanced-stage MCF-7/HER2-18–transfected human breast cancer xenografts and its potentiation of Herceptin activity. We also provide evidence that IGF-IR activation counters the early suppressive effect of Herceptin on HER-2 signaling via Akt and p44/p42 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), and that inhibition of HER-2-overexpressing human breast tumor growth by rhIGFBP-3 is associated with restored down-regulation of Akt and p44/p42 MAPK phosphorylation in vitro and in vivo. These results emphasize the merit of evaluating simultaneous blockade of the HER-2 and IGF-IR pathways using combination therapy with rhIGFBP-3 plus Herceptin in human clinical trials of patients with HER-2-positive breast cancer.
