[...]Paris Motor Show, Paris, France, 29 September, 2016 – TomTom (TOM2) today announces the coverage expansion of its High Definition (HD) Map and RoadDNA products to France, covering nearly 33,000 kilometres of motorways across the country. Additionally, TomTom is extending its HD Map and RoadDNA coverage in the United States to include 13 additional states. By already delivering over 200,000 kilometres of HD Map coverage globally, TomTom is enabling the automotive industry to bring autonomous driving closer to reality.
“The initial launch of our HD Map, including RoadDNA, was almost exactly one year ago today with complete coverage for the Autobahn network in Germany,” said Willem Strijbosch, Head of Autonomous Driving at TomTom. “Over the past year, TomTom has grown its HD Map coverage by 650%, proving both the scalability of our production process, as well as our commitment to helping the automotive industry accelerate the development of autonomous vehicles.”
