   WASHINGTON - De Amerikaanse president Donald Trump wilde alle militaire hulp aan Oekraïne stopzetten totdat het land een onderzoek zou instellen naar de activiteiten van Joe en Hunter Biden in Oekraïne.
   
   Dat schrijft voormalig veiligheidsadviseur van Trump John Bolton in een rapport, volgens de krant The New York Times.
   
   De president reageert op Twitter. "Ik heb John Bolton nooit verteld dat het stopzetten van de hulp gelinkt was aan mijn verzoek om een onderzoek in te stellen naar Democraten. Als John Bolton dit zegt, dan is het alleen maar om het boek te verkopen."
   
   Trump staat in de Senaat terecht vanwege deze zaak. Hij zou zijn macht hebben gebruikt voor zijn eigen politieke gewin door de hulp te weerhouden tot Oekraïne een onderzoek in zou stellen naar Biden. Daarna zou hij het onderzoek daarnaar hebben tegengewerkt. De president zou kunnen worden afgezet aan het einde van het proces.
   
   De verklaring van Bolton gaat in tegen de verdediging van Trump die zegt dat het stopzetten van de hulp en het verzoek om een onderzoek te starten naar Biden losstaan van elkaar. Bolton stapte in september vorig jaar op na onenigheid met Trump.
   
   De militaire hulp aan Oekraïne werd enige tijd stilgelegd door de VS. Uiteindelijk besloot Trump onder politieke druk van het Huis van Afgevaardigden de materialen toch weer te gaan leveren.
   
   De Democraten gebruiken het rapport van Bolton om hun roep om getuigen en nieuw bewijs in het afzettingsproces toe te staan kracht bij te zetten. "Er kan nu geen twijfel meer over bestaan dat Bolton de verdediging van de president direct tegenspreekt. Daarom moeten we getuigen toelaten in het proces", aldus de aanklagers in een verklaring. "Er is geen goede reden om te wachten tot het boek is gepubliceerd als zijn informatie zo belangrijk is."

   Hij heeft ervoor gezorgd dat trump in het zadel kwam, om zo meer radicale rechters te benoemen.
   Die heeft hij gekregen.
   En nu is trump impeached.
   En moet McConnell de rekening betalen.
   Zijn Senatoren, de meerderheid, mogen kiezen: of stemmen voor trump, maar dan tegen de wil van het volk. Geen verder onderzoek, geen getuigen, terwijl 70% van de bevolking dat wel wil.
   Of ze stemmen tegen trump waarna de wraak van trump zal volgen middels tweets en mogelijke tegenkandidaten in hun staat.
   
   Doomed if they do, doomed of they don't, zeg maar.
   
   En ondertussen is er een gestage stroom nieuw en sterk bewijs voor trump's criminele en impeach-bare akties. En die stroom blijft op zijn minst druppelen. Daar zorgen de Democraten wel voor. En de GOP staat in heur hemd, als de partij van corruptie, verraad en leugens. De verkiezingsspotjes schrijven zichzelf....
   
   Waardoor er tenminste 5 zetels op het spel staan, die nu alle vijf lijken om te vallen.
   En de ene zetel die de GP zou kunnen winnen, in Alabama, lijkt steviger in de handen van Doug Jones te blijven.
   
   Briljante strategie. Verlies van de Senaat voor de afzienbare toekomst ruilen voor meer radicale rechters?
   
   (en dan hebben we het nog niet eens over Obamacare, income inequality, de aanval op Medicare en SS, abortus/Roe v Wade, Milieumaatregelen, scheiding vanKerk en Staat in scholen etc etc....)

   In the manuscript obtained by the New York Times, Bolton states that he spoke to Attorney General Bill Barr specifically about the July 25th phone call between Trump and Ukrainian president Zelensky, and that poses a problem for Barr.
   
   “Mr. Bolton also said that after the president’s July phone call with the president of Ukraine, he raised with Attorney General William P. Barr his concerns about Mr. Giuliani, who was pursuing a shadow Ukraine policy encouraged by the president, and told Mr. Barr that the president had mentioned him on the call,” the New York Times reported.
   
   According to Barr’s spokesperson, however, Barr didn’t learn about the call from Bolton and didn’t find out about it until mid-August.
   William Barr, the nation’s top law enforcement officer, has likely just been caught in the most consequential lie out of the Justice Department in decades.
   John Bolton will have notes. He will have told other people that he spoke to A.G. Barr, these other people who can corroborate Bolton’s account. Bolton may have a memorandum or an email as evidence.
   Bolton will almost surely be able to prove that he’s telling the truth.
   Yet, A.G. Barr is stuck with an official statement from his office, a statement that is a bald-faced, brash-assed lie.

   Op vele departementen zijn veel specialisten verdwenen en belangrijke teams opgeheven.
   Zo ook in 2018 het team om pandemische ziektes het hoofd te bieden.
   Zou Trump alsnog besluiten een nood team op te zetten, dan ontbreekt de bestaande organisatie structuur, training en contacten tussen capabele mensen. Het moet van niets tot iets opgebouwd worden en dat vergt veel tijd en er kunnen incompetente beslissingen genomen worden.
   
   Een verspreiding van een virus gaat razendsnel en vereist direct adequate beslissingen.

    Het feit dat Bolton dit niet heeft gedeeld ligt meer in het amorele gedrag van Bolton, want eerst de pecunia, dan het landsbelang nietwaar? Dat zou trump toch moeten aanspreken, eigenlijk.

Whether he was attracted to the law because he is cold-blooded, punctilious, and manipulative, or became cold-blooded, punctilious, and manipulative because the practice of the law rewards those traits, is immaterial. This is his character, and it explains all his delays in coming forward with his account. In litigation, one never makes a concession without getting something in return, and without forcing your adversary to do everything exactly right in the course of making a demand. If the law requires your adversary to tap dance and hum “Flight of the Bumblebee” while making a request, you postpone giving an answer until every note is hummed in tune and every tap lands with a crisp and pleasing crack. Every concession of your own diminishes your own space to maneuver, and every concession by your opponent—even just a factual admission—pens him into a smaller space.
    
    To act this way in a context outside of litigation is commonly known as “being an asshole.” That explains, in part, Bolton’s reputation for unpleasantness: He unapologetically forces people to get the details, what in government is often called “process,” exactly right. Bolton has a tendency to regard rivals who flub process as incompetents who can’t get things done.     Silence up to now has bought Bolton the Litigator something very valuable. He has now listened as others present “in the room”—including his deputies, such as Fiona Hill—have recorded their versions of events.     The latest story from the New York Times, coordinated with a book launch, has more to do with publicity than the truth.
    John Bolton never informed Mick Mulvaney of any concerns surrounding Bolton's purported August conversation with the President.
    Nor did Mulvaney ever have a conversation with the President or anyone else indicating that Ukrainian Military aid was withheld in exchange for a Ukrainian investigation of Burisma, the Bidens or the 2016 election.
    Furthermore, Mr Mulvaney has no recollection of any conversation with Mr Giuliani resembling that reportedly described in Mr Bolton's manuscript, as it was Mr Mulvaney's practice to excuse himself from conversations between the President and his personal counsel to preserve attorney-client privilege.

    Frappant is dat Bob Driscoll de advocaat van Maria Butina was, Butina was een Russische spionne en door Robert Mueller aangeklaagd in zijn onderzoek naar Russische inmenging in Trump's 2016 verkiezing.
    Butina legde de contacten met GOP leden en de NRA (National Rifle Association) leden. Haar partner, Alexander Torshin, steunde GOP leden via de NRA met campagne donaties.
    
    En nu s deze advocaat de advocaat van de acting White House Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney.
    Het is technisch wel mogelijk. Een advocaat werkt voor een klant en daarna weer voor een andere. Maar dat de Chief of Staff van het Witte Huis een advocaat heeft die kort tevoren een Russische spionne heeft verdedigd geeft te denken.

    Ja, Pompeo was razend en om te laten zien dat niets wist moest ze Oekraïne aanwijzen op een blanco landkaart.
    En ze wees Oekraine zonder moeite aan.
    
    Daar weten deze mensen op CNN wel raad mee. Welke Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken heeft er nu een landkaart waar geen namen van landen op staan vermeld.
    En dan de vraag of Trump wel Oekraine kan aanwijzen. Zelfs wanneer er een U staat met een Crane (kraan) ernaast getekend is Trump nog niet in staat het land aan te wijzen.
