   Based on reports online, FSD Beta 10.9 appears to be part of software update 2021.44.30.10. Noted Tesla hacker @greentheonly further remarked that the EV maker is rolling out a new map update with its recent patch. These updated maps might make the Tesla user experience better during trips.

   Mobileye will have to persuade investors that it is worth at least $50 billion, more than ten times the valuation at which it was traded in its last spell as a public company on Wall Street in the middle of the last decade. It's true that the capital market of 2022 is much more hungry for speculative investment in automotive technology than it was in 2015, but to achieve the valuation it seeks, Mobileye will have to win the support and confidence of giant funds and conservative and solid investment houses.
   
   Mobileye currently controls about 80% of the global market for ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) products for low level autonomous driving, and this is also its only revenue source.
   
   Mapping: Spin-off potential?
   
   Since the middle of the last decade, Mobileye has invested in developing high-resolution mapping technology based on data derived from its camera sensors.
   
   The product, up-to-date digital maps, has value not just in improving the orientation capabilities of future autonomous vehicles, but also in a variety of external uses, such as urban planning. The market is estimated at $1.4 billion in 2021, and expected to grow to $17 billion annually by 2030, giving an annual growth rate of 31%. Mobileye has several important strategic partners in this field, headed by the Volkswagen group, which at CES announced expansion of the collaboration. The big question is whether revenue from this field can contribute materially to Mobileye's value? The real potential here lies in spinning off this activity and selling it for billions to a third party - Volkswagen, for example.
   
   Transport services: Will the company manufacture vehicles?
   
   Mobileye's most important value-generating activity was not mentioned at CES, and the company is apparently keeping it for a stage closer to the flotation. This is the plan to become a provider of complete off-the-shelf solutions in the form of autonomous electric commercial vehicles and taxis.

    Structural integrity and next-gen ADAS deliver added confidence behind the wheel
    
    Safety has been a top priority during the development of the all-new Niro. As a result, the vehicle’s high-strength lightweight body features a multi-load front impact structure to ensure passengers benefit from outstanding levels of safety in the event of a front-end collision.
    
    The second-generation Niro includes a full complement of Kia’s DriveWise intelligent Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that are designed to avoid potential hazards and improve confidence and convenience behind the wheel.
    
    Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) warns the driver if the risk of a collision is detected with other vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists. The system’s Junction Turning and Junction Crossing functions provide maximum preventative safety when navigating junctions. If the all-new Niro’s turn signal is activated, the system will warn the driver if there is a collision risk with an oncoming vehicle. Similarly, a warning is provided if there is a risk from vehicles approaching from the left or right when the driver is travelling straight across a junction. If either risk increases, the system will warn the driver before automatically applying the brakes to avoid a collision.
    
    Using information from the new Niro’s front view camera and navigation system, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA) delivers a warning and adjusts the speed if the driver travels over the speed limit. Once parked, Safe Exit Assist (SEA) provides a warning when a vehicle is approaching from the rear-side when getting out of the vehicle, with the electronic child lock preventing rear seat passengers from opening the rear door.
    
    Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) is a feature that enables the vehicle to park itself autonomously, whether or not the driver is in the vehicle. It enables drivers to move their car out of a front-and-back parking space remotely with their key fob.
    
    Other ADAS features include Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), High Beam Assist (HBA), Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Highway Driving Assist (HDA), Rear View Monitor (RVM), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA-R) and Front/Rear Parking Distance Warning (PDW-F/R).
    
    High-tech connectivity and convenience features fit seamlessly into everyday life
    
    The all-new Niro includes an extensive range of high-tech convenience and connectivity features designed to make life easier both behind the wheel and on leaving the car.
    
    A 10-inch head-up display (HUD) system displays key driving information including speed, ADAS data and navigation commands directly onto the front windshield. The ultra-clear graphics are displayed directly ahead of the driver helping to minimize eye movement while driving, enhancing safety and convenience in the process.
    
    An advanced Voice Car Control system featuring Natural Voice Recognition technology allows occupants to control key vehicle systems such as temperature and audio settings without raising an arm. A new Multi-Command feature means passengers can also control multiple functions with one command. Additional convenience is provided by a power tailgate that opens automatically on detecting the user’s smart key.
    
    The all-new Niro is equipped with Kia’s Digital Key 2 Touch system that allows occupants to unlock and start their vehicle via smartphone. Compatible with both iOS and Android devices that feature the Kia Connect App, the system uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to enable drivers to access and start their vehicle without the need to carry the car’s smart key.
    
    Built-in front and rear cameras mounted inside the all-new Niro allow occupants to record high quality videos of memorable journeys and scenic locations. Users can then save and view the videos on the vehicle’s infotainment screen or via a smartphone. The Niro also features Car to Home, a function that allows users to control home IoT devices such as television, lighting and room temperatures directly from inside the vehicle.
    
    The Kia Connect smartphone app allows users to connect with their vehicle remotely. Drivers can sync calendars, plan journeys with online navigation and access key onboard features including live traffic alerts, local fuel station information and real-time weather forecasts.
    
    An End Destination Guidance feature helps customers navigate to their final destination on foot once their Niro is parked using Google Maps and augmented reality (AR) technology. Valet Mode enables customers to monitor their vehicle remotely when it’s being driven by another user, providing added peace of mind.

    I own a Kia Niro which has a built-in satnav that, according to Kia, used map data from Here until recently. The most recent updates though appear to have silently switched to using TomTom map data without informing users.

    Alleen op de website van KIA staat dat je 7 jaar TT maps krijgt, op de TT website staat dat TT alleen LIVE services levert aan KIA. Volgens mij heeft TT hier ook nog een persbericht vergeten op te stellen.

    Zal bij andere merken ook wel gebeuren, schat ik in.
    
    Carmakers zijn toch ook niet verplicht om van elk minuscuul onderdeeltje de toeleverancier te vermelden en eventuele wijzigingen daarop ?
    
    Of van grotere onderdelen ??
    
    Of van welke staalfabriek het plaatstaal van de carroserie ???
    
    En dat dit ook per merk en model nog kan verschillen afhankelijk van de vestigingsplaats van de fabriek of het land/gebied waar de auto's verkocht worden ????

    Das VW-Assistenzprogramm Travel Assist kann künftig auch ohne Fahrbahnmarkierungen die Spur halten. Schwarmwissen macht das möglich.
    
    Das Assistenzprogramm zum teilautomatisierten Fahren heißt bei VW Travel Assist. Mit dieser Option hält das Auto nicht nur Geschwindigkeit, Abstand und Spur, sondern übernimmt auch Tempolimits und Streckeninformationen aus den Navigationsdaten.
    
    Zur weiteren Verbesserung des Travel Assist werden jetzt auch Schwarmdaten genutzt. Bestandsfahrzeuge haben anonymisiert Informationen zu Straßenverlauf und anderen Parametern gesammelt. Unternehmensangaben zufolge sind insgesamt etwa 1,2 Milliarden Kilometer weltweit für das Datensammeln zusammengekommen. Gemeinsam mit Mobileye hat VW diese Daten für die Nutzung aufbereitet. REM Maps nennt Mobileye die Bibliothek für Kartendaten, was für "Road Experience Management" (Verwaltung von Erfahrungen auf der Straße) steht.

    Erster Einsatz in MEB-Elektroautos
    
    Die neueste Ausführung des Travel Assist profitiert davon beispielsweise beim verbesserten Spurhalteassistenten. In Zukunft soll er dank der REM-Karten auf weniger gut ausgebauten Landstraßen ohne Markierungsstreifen und im urbanen Bereich funktionieren. Der neue Travel Assist soll, das kündigte VW-Chef Herbert Diess auf dem sozialen Business-Netzwerk LinkedIn an, in Kürze in neuen Elektroautos des Konzerns, die auf der MEB-Architektur basieren, zum Einsatz kommen.
    
    Fazit
    
    Schwarmwissen, das weltweit über viele Kilometer gesammelt wurde, verbessert das Kartenmaterial, auf das auch der Travel Assist zurückgreift. Damit kann VW sein Fahrassistenzprogramm mit neuen Funktionen wie dem Spurhalten ohne Fahrbahnmarkierungen verbessern.

    Mini positie philips opgeraapt op 29 euro maar mag geen naam hebben.
    
    Enne… TomTom is geen wrak :)
    
    Als je naar bedrijf met issue kijkt, zoals Philips, dan kijk je ook altijd even naar de financials en leverage en dan valt toch altijd weer op hoe TomTom daarin afwijkt. TT heeft nul leningen, nul schulden en netto cash positie 350 mio (ongeveer).
