The contract includes, among other aspects, the mechanical maintenance of all the plant’s process lines.
Acerinox, the world’s largest producer of stainless steel has again entrusted Imtech Spain with the maintenance of its factory situated in the Cádiz locality of Palmones (Los Barrios). Over the next five years, Imtech will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of all the principal and ancillary process lines of the integrated steel works, in addition to the servicing of the motor pumps.
This maintenance includes corrective works (steel works, hot and cold rolling), preventive and predictive maintenance (programmed check-ups, inspections and corrective works), recovery of replacements (steel works, hot and cold rolling) and preventive and corrective maintenance of the ancillary systems (water plants and distribution, wagons and motor pumps). In addition, factors such as savings in greases, oils and remainder of materials will be taken into account.
The Managing Director of the Industry Division of Imtech Spain, José Cano, emphasized that “this contract is highly relevant for the company, as it can be considered to be one of the most important maintenance projects in steel-making plants in Spain and in the whole of Europe. Furthermore, it is added to the recent award by Cepsa of the largest maintenance package for its petrochemical plants, also for a five-year period. There is no doubt that both contracts give us a very great deal of stability over the long term.”
Imtech, which had previously already worked as the maintenance company for this plant, brings a novel approach to its management, which stands out for its operative procedure and proactive service. In the execution of this contract Imtech will involve more than 225 people, in addition to the support provided by the organization’s own internal structure.
